Via Bus:
Bus lines numbers 55, 155, 442 and 471 serve Fort Snelling from Minneapolis. Service from St. Paul requires a transfer at the Lake Street Station. the Fort Snelling Bus Stop is located adjacent to the Bishop Whipple Federal Building parking lots, and is a 10-15 minute walk from the Historic Fort Snelling Visitor Center. Via Light Rail:
The Hiawatha Line Fort Snelling Light Rail Station and the Fort Snelling Bus Stop is located adjacent to the Bishop Whipple Federal Building parking lots, and is a 10-15 minute walk from the Historic Fort Snelling Visitor Center.
CAUTION: Please note when walking to the historic fort from the Light Rail station several areas do not have sidewalks. In addition, there are blind corners and fast-moving traffic, particularly along Bloomington Road. Please exercise extreme caution when walking in this area.
